South Korea's exports increased by 3.1% year-on-year in March, increasing for 6 consecutive months

Recently, South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy released the latest data. South Korea's exports in March this year increased by 3.1% year-on-year to US$56.56 billion. Single-month exports have maintained growth for six consecutive months. During the same period, the import volume was US$52.28 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 12.3%. As a result, the trade balance achieved a surplus of US$4.28 billion in March. The single-month trade balance has maintained a surplus for 10 consecutive months since June last year.

The Netherlands’ GDP in the fourth quarter of 2023 increased by 0.4% year-on-year

The recovery in the last quarter of 2023 exceeded initial estimates, according to the latest data from Statistics Netherlands. The initial forecast for fourth-quarter GDP growth was 0.3%, which rose to 0.4% after CBS revised it. As the country experienced a recession in the first nine months of the year, GDP fell by 0.4% compared with 2022. Preliminary estimates show the economy shrank by 0.5% for the full year.

The Bank of Mexico announced a 25 basis point interest rate cut to 11.00%

Recently, the Central Bank of Mexico announced its decision to lower the benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points to 11%. In response to the interest rate cut, rating agency Moody's Local noted in a report that the easing of monetary policy is positive for banks because it may mean an increase in credit for business portfolios.
